Position Summary

The Audio/Visual Specialist provides support in the areas of audio/video and technical communications. This specialist works with producers/directors on design, testing, installation and positioning of equipment and props for live events or meetings.

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Sets up and adjusts audio-visual equipment and performs routine maintenance. Audio visual
  • Hardware includes, but is not limited to: projectors, projections, teleconferencing equipment, sound systems and procedural trainers.
  • Assists in editing tapes.
  • Troubleshoots and fixes any problems that arise with any A/V equipment and be able to install and maintain all A/V equipment across AMO as requested by the Contracting Officer or COR.
  • Maintains accurate record of equipment inventory and troubleshoots equipment problems.
  • Works under moderate supervision.
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

  • Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
  • Noise level can range from minimal to intense.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent required.
  • Must possess knowledge in connecting, maintaining, and using audio visual hardware and related operations software in classroom, conference room and large event environments.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
  • Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Must have an associate degree or equivalent.
  • Possess a Valid Drivers’ License without special restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of related work experience preferred.

Security Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Secret Security Clearance required.
