Job DescriptionJob Description

The Mission of the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Sacramento County (CASA Sacramento) is ensuring consistency and support for children and youth in the foster care system through the use of volunteer advocates advancing the best interests of each child.

Position Overview: The full-time Program Associate (PA) is a valuable member of the CASA team, who provide support to our CASAs and youth in foster care. Working with the CASA team, the PA will be responsible for supporting the Program Department with varied administrative, data entry, recordkeeping tasks, administration of sensitive/confidential program materials and documents. There are potential opportunities to participate in outreach and volunteer events as well as an expectation of participation in CASA fundraising events as needed. The PA will support the Intake Coordinator in responding to main line phone calls and providing program information. The PA will work as part of a dynamic team of staff and volunteers to support the mission of CASA Sacramento and our work on behalf of local foster youth through various initiatives. Previous experience working with youth and other vulnerable/at-risk populations is encouraged. This is a hybrid position Tuesdays & Thursdays per week in the office required.

Essential Responsibilities: Training and Recruitment Support (25%)

· Support Training and Recruitment Director by scanning & uploading trainee documents to database as needed & provide support uploading volunteer application documents from website.

· Help input continuing education and support group attendance information into database.

· Participate in outreach opportunities if requested and appropriate.

Case Supervision Support (65%)

· Support Case Supervisors, Program Director and Associate Director with office functions such as: maintenance of database records and corresponding documents.

· Assist with creation of business cards and badges for new advocates.

· Assist with mail: send items to advocates, receive and distribute mail.

· Help coordinate distribution of complimentary event tickets or items.

· Scan, enter and upload case related documents to database as needed.

· Follow up with advocates to update necessary volunteer file information.

· Support distribution and collection of Annual Volunteer Logs.

· Help track down and enter missing case related documents as needed.

· Help with monthly grant related documentation.

Intake Support (10%)

· Answer phone calls, provide agency and community resource information, and forward messages to appropriate staff when Intake Coordinator is not available.

· Support Intake Coordinator with scanning, entering and uploading case related documents as needed.

General Responsibilities

· Ensure confidentiality in all assigned activities.

· Assist management and other staff with respect to assigned projects as needed.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.

· Attend staff meetings monthly and attend staff development training as available.

· Assist in volunteer appreciation events and fundraising events as needed.

Qualifications Overview:

● Bachelor’s degree preferred (Associate degree and/or equivalent years of relevant work experience strongly considered).

● Experience in an office setting, social service, non-profit or court related programs encouraged.

● Experience and knowledge of general office practices and procedures.

● Competent in the use of computers, Word/Office Suite, and data entry. (Excel a plus)

●Demonstrated respect of all people regardless of socioeconomic background, culture, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or gender identity and expression and experience working with culturally diverse populations.

● Ability to work well with a supervisory team comprised of professional staff and volunteers.

● Must pass a background check in accordance with California Rule of Court 5.655.

Other Requirements:

· Candidates must be able to occasionally work evenings or weekends (example: events, training).

· Hybrid position – New hires eligible for hybrid work after 3 week in-office training/onboarding complete. (Tuesdays & Thursdays per week in the office required).

· Must complete 40 hours of CASA training within 90 days of hire. (This requirement may be waived if already completed the training or served as a CASA volunteer in Sacramento).

· There is a 6 month introductory period.

· Ability to lift 20 lbs throughout the day and be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

Compensation and Benefits:

· Full-time position working 40 hours per week, $23.00 to $25.00 per hour DOE.

· Eligible for participation of benefits package including partial coverage for health, dental & vision insurance; 403(b) retirement plan, holiday & paid time off (after 60 days of employment).
