Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for daily accounts receivable activities and accounting functions.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Accounts Receivable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation such as order validation, invoice generation, and process improvement.
  • Performs GL, sales tax, and customer account reconciliations.
  • Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, logs and general ledger.
  • Follow company’s established accounting processes.
  • Assist with external audit as needed.
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Assist with preparing month and year end financial reports.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Two-four years Accounting Experience
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Must be able to accurately perform calculation and analysis pertaining Accounts Receivable processes, journal entries, and other accounting duties as needed.
  • Experience in QuickBooks required and experience in other accounting/ERP systems preferred.
  • Able to read and understand financial statements and general ledger activity.
  • Competent in using software and computer applications such as, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, Outlook, etc.

Credentials:

  • Able to read, write and speak English Language
  • U.S. Citizen or Legal Resident Alien

Physical Requirements

  • The employee is frequently required to sit
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses to adequately perform the functions of the job
  • The employee is regularly required to verbally communicate
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
  • May be required to occasionally lift to 10lbs
  • Must be able to manage and handle stressful and or demanding situations

Working Relationship/Environment Exposures

  • Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited
  • Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office environment
  • No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties
  • Frequent contact with all levels of employees and management
