Under the direction of the Distribution Supervisor, the Distribution Lead will develop and communicate daily work assignments within the department; possess a good understanding of shipping operations and related processes; demonstrate the ability to perform any of the various operations within the Distribution Group; interact with other departments to resolve problems that interfere with productivity and/or distribution.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to perform duties as described for a Material Handler 1,2 and 3.
  • Ability to perform duties of a Shipping Clerk.
  • Conducting training for new or less experienced employees.
  • Coordinates order pulling and material handler functions to ensure productivity, distribution, while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain the ERP/MRP and departmental reports.
  • Develops and communicates daily workload/tasks assignments to department.
  • Ability to understand and implement regulations and compliance in transporting goods.
  • Ensures all departmental and company procedures are followed.

  • Requires proven leadership ability and strong communication skills.
  • Must be tolerant of differences, a good listener, able to manage conflict, prioritize time, resources, and goals.
  • Requires an ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to motivate self and others to achieve the company’s goals on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Must be dependable, accurate, customer oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills to support the departmental and company’s goals.
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Consistently puts forth exceptional effort, works efficiently, and is able to keep up with assigned workload.
  • Ability to work any shift.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years work experience working in Materials and Shipping applications. Requires a working knowledge of the M3 Shipping modules.

Physical Job Conditions / Work Environment

  • Factory, Warehouse, Distribution Center, Office Setting
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk/computer screen
  • Moderate physical effort – able to lift between 50 lbs at times.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for long periods of time.
