JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Site Expansion and Relaunch, the Partnerships Consultant will work collaboratively to plan, develop, and implement AmeriCorps member recruitment strategies that result in enrolling 30 full time AmeriCorps members for our 2024-2025 cohort.

This position is in-person and will work in the Pittsburgh, PA area.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY OUTCOMES
  • Work collaboratively to plan, develop, and implement AmeriCorps member (Ally) recruitment strategies (including timelines and benchmarks) that result in enrolling 30 full time AmeriCorps members for our 2024-2025 cohort. This includes, but not limited to, community outreach to potential applicants, Public Allies alumni, past partners; building relationships with community organizations, government agencies, high schools, colleges, nonprofits, and other organizations that serve or engage young adults and potential applicants between the ages of 18 and 30+; planning and/or attending recruitment events.
  • Work with the Director of Site Expansion and Relaunch and other Public Allies National Office staff as needed to coordinate the Ally application, interview, evaluation and matching process, including all required compliance processes (i.e. AmeirCorps required history checks).
  • Ensure timely, accurate and professional communication with all potential applicants, community members, community organization staff, and other Ally recruitment stakeholders.
  • Support the administrative duties and documentation processes required by Public Allies and AmeriCorps that pertain to Ally recruitment, selection, matching and enrollment of members.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s Degree or comparative life experience

  • Adept cultural competence and experience working with diverse stakeholders and constituents.

  • Demonstrated commitment to and practice of social and racial justice.

  • Strong commitment to building a just and equitable Pittsburgh utilizing an asset-based approach

  • Have a passion for leadership development and possess both desire and capability to identify and engage young adults ages 18-30+ who have a passion for social change and community, and are ready for a full time, paid career development opportunity.

  • Good sense of self and strong personal presence.

  • Experience building partnerships and in community outreach.

  • Experience establishing, developing, cultivating, and stewarding strong relationships with young people, community members, nonprofit and community leaders, etc.

  • Established network within the Pittsburgh nonprofit community and within Pittsburgh diverse communities, with demonstrable success in cultivating and maintaining rapport and relationships.

  • A disciplined approach to setting and achieving goals, and a drive to continuously improve.

  • Attention to detail, strong time management and project management skills

  • Self starter, self motivated, and ability to work independently

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position is predominantly sedentary requiring the ability to sit, bend, stand and walk. It may require occasional stooping, reaching, stair-climbing and repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard. It rarely requires kneeling, pushing/pulling, and repetitive motions of the feet.

Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling, and grasping regularly. Specific vision conditions include close vision reading. It requires the ability to operate a computer, telephone, fax, copy machine and adding machine or calculator.

The position is generally performed in an office environment. The noise level is generally low to quiet. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. The hourly wage for this role is $50.00 per hour.
