Position Overview:

The focus of this position is to train and groom a qualified person to perform field testing on newly constructed homes and HVAC systems to ensure they are installed according to design and operating within the green building code. This person will also test, inspect and confirm compliance for necessary energy efficiency programs such as the Energy Star, and Build It Green and others. This is a full time position with provide benefits after 60 days. The Inspector Assistant will be responsible for performing daily field testing and inspections at new construction development sites throughout the Valley and surrounding areas with-in approximately 50-75 mile radius. With our primary focus on large scale production home builders.


The Inspector Assistant will shadow the Field Operations Manager and Field Inspector on a daily basis until ready to perform these inspection on his own. At that time, he will then be offered paid training for green certifications once he has met probationary requirements. He will be required to communicate clearly with his team, field manager, HVAC trades, and Superintendents on these job sites should he find work inefficiencies on these job sites.

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS: We are looking for a self-motivated person who is highly detail oriented, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about getting their job done right.


  • Basic Computer skills, (Word, Excel, sending emails, and cell phone communication)
  • Several years of construction experience, HVAC or Green certifications preferred.
  • Can read building plans, or have basic knowledge of how to interpret them.
  • Candidate must be in good physical condition to carry up to 50/lbs of equipment, climb ladders, and hoist themselves up into attic spaces.
  • Candidate must have a dependable and reliable vehicle with a current and valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.


Experience in green building programs or educational certifications such as Hers, BPI, Build it Green, Energy Star is Highly Desirable Or Green Building college credits a plus.


Experience in field home testing of any kind would also be desirable. (Duct Testing, Refrigerant Charge, or Blower Door testing)
