If so, you’ve come to the right place Wood Rodgers, a leading civil engineering and land surveying consulting firm headquartered in California, is hiring a CAD Technician to join our Transportation Department. The primary responsibility is to create technical drawings, plans, and schematics using a Computer Aided Drafting system, applying established company procedures drafting standards. These drawings will be compiled from the remotely sensed imagery and LiDAR we collect from our drones and airplanes. Knowledge of maps/plans and relationships among sheet-types within a map or Plan Set is beneficial. You will perform other routine computational work and clearly defined tasks, as well as participates in training to enhance skills in office engineering work.
What you'll be doing
  • Create detailed drawings, plans, and schematics using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Ensure that drawings comply with industry and company standards.
  • Interpret field notes, project specifications, and multiple sensor data sources to develop precise planimetric and topographic drawings.
  • Incorporate revisions and modifications to drawings based on feedback and project requirements.

Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 - 3 years’ experience handling the above essential functions in an engineering business environment.
  • Experience and familiarity working in AutoCAD, Carlson, and/or MicroStation software.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information and translate it into visual representations.

The expected salary will likely fall within the mid-point of the range. Please note that this range does not account for geographic differences and may vary above or below the listed range. Any offer will consider various factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and training. Base pay is one component of the comprehensive compensation package provided by Wood Rodgers.
