Repairs and Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Operations Team

Position Overview:
The Repairs and Maintenance Technician will ensure that all restaurant facilities and equipment are in optimal working condition. This role involves addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting restaurant teams to ensure smooth operations. You will be working at all restaurant locations under the Ramirez Hospitality Group. Work hours may be up to 40-55 hours per week, with the occasion of traveling after hours to one of our locations.
  • Keeping up to date with regular inspections, HVAC, Plumbing, Refrigeration maintenance, kitchen equipment, Electrical experience preferred
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certificate preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Facility Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as fixing leaky faucets, patching holes, repairing door hinges, and replacing light bulbs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.

2. Equipment Maintenance:
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and tools to locate the cause of a breakdown.
  • Perform maintenance tasks on kitchen equipment, including fryers, ovens, stovetops, and refrigeration units.
  • Ensure all machinery is up to code and operates efficiently.

3. Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure that all tasks performed meet health and safety regulations.
  • Recommend necessary modifications to ensure that facilities comply with health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.

4. Customer Service:
  • Quickly respond to service requests and potential issues reported by the restaurant staff.
  • Collaborate with the restaurant management team to prioritize maintenance needs.

5. Record Keeping:
  • Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work.
  • Document any needed replacements or potential risks for further review.

6. Vendor Management:
  • Collaborate with external vendors when specialized services are required.
  • Oversee and inspect vendor-related repairs and maintenance operations.


Physical Requirements

Some physical demands of the job may include lifting and/or moving heavy objects 50 lbs. or more, standing for extended periods, or working in various environmental conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver's license required
  • Vocational training in a related field is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of tools, equipment, and best practices in repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and determine the best course of action.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to be on-call for emergencies.
