Position Summary:

This position will have direct responsibility for the overall effectiveness and efficiencies of the business administration services of the Feed division. All administrative and clerical personnel will report to the Feed Business Manager which includes but is not limited to Customer Service Representatives, Accounting/Bookkeeping and Scale Operators. The role of the Feed Business Manager is to understand and train systematic procedures that produce success for the Feed Division.

Essential Functions:

  • Support EVP Feed and CC-Grain as necessary.
  • Coordinating daily business administrative functions.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient invoicing.
  • Identify and develop bench strengths for divisional and Cooperative needs and success.
  • Improving business efficiency through simplification and training of the billing, invoicing, payment procedures.
  • Recruiting, hiring, and training new employees.
  • Ensuring that policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensuring that the department has adequate resources to perform its functions effectively.
  • Coordinating activities between departments to ensure efficient workflow within the division.
  • Managing administrative staff, including hiring, firing, training, and appraising performance.
  • Effectively overseeing and delegating tasks, prioritizing tasks, and providing your employees with the training and resources they need to meet their goals.
  • Inventory
  • Accounts receivable functionality.
  • Oversee monthly reconciliation of inventory and adjustments.
  • Workflow and system improvements.

Other Duties:

  • Personnel review, compensation and time off management.
  • Design, development and execution of business practices that encourage and enhance positive cultural interactions within the divisions.
  • Development of practices that create synergistic relationships and operational efficiencies throughout the division.

Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Associate degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years management experience.

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Considerable knowledge of business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Analytical skills that dissect process for improvement.
