Job Summary
The Accountant will perform accounting department functions and support preparation of both internal and external financial statements and other financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute all assigned accounting entries according to company policies and conforming to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Report and ensure controls are followed and in full compliance with SOX requirements.
- Complete full account reconciliations, analyze and explain variances, work with relevant management to understand and address revenue, costs and trends, and make recommendations for improvements across areas of responsibility, where relevant.
Accounting Functions
- Prepare and enter journal entries.
- Perform month-end accounting close functions.
- Peer review of staff member work as needed.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger account balances.
- Prepare account analysis as needed.
Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports as assigned (income and departmental statements, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows) for management review.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of forms 10-K and 10-Q as required.
- Review and analysis of key accounts on a monthly basis; make corrections as necessary and report results to management.
- Assist in the monthly financial statement consolidation process as needed.
- Provide variance analysis (v. budget and/or v. prior periods and/or v. forecast).

- Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related discipline; CPA a plus.
- 2-4 years relevant accounting experience, knowledge of financial reporting and functions.
- Prior experience in financial ERP software preferred.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet deadlines when necessary.
Working Conditions
- Work performed in office setting.
- Mostly sedentary.
