DS Technologies Inc is looking for Design Systems Engineer role for one of our premier clients.

Job Title: Design Systems Engineer (Front-of-the-Front End)
Location: San Diego, CA (Remote is acceptable, with restrictions on multiple jobs)

Overview:
The Design Systems Engineer will lead the development and evolution of a cohesive and consistent design system, collaborating closely with design, engineering, and product teams to drive efficiency and scale.

Position:
Senior-level Design Systems Engineer responsible for creating, maintaining, and evolving a design system that integrates both design and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical implementation of the design system, including typography, color, iconography, tools, and documentation.
  • Develop high-quality, reusable, and modular UI components.
  • Create and maintain a component library, ensuring accessibility and consistency.
  • Collaborate with designers to translate design vision and UX best practices into the UI.
  • Provide support for component usage and fix related bugs.
  • Document usage patterns and guidelines for each component.
  • Maintain and manage the design system, including versioning and governance.
  • Conduct retrospectives to continuously improve the design system.

Required Qualifications:

  • Expert-level front-end development skills in Angular, HTML, SASS, with WCAG compliance.
  • Strong understanding of Angular JS, Node JS, JSX, and Storybook.
  • Advanced experience with Figma for managing components within a shared design system.
  • Expertise in developing and maintaining custom component libraries using Web Components.
  • Experience with Agile, design-thinking, Lean UX, and other industry methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of version control tools like Bitbucket or Git.
  • High attention to detail and drive for pixel perfection.
  • Relevant and available online portfolio.
  • Must be a self-starter and driven to solve complex technical challenges.

Additional Information:
The role is remote-friendly but requires full commitment to the job, with an emphasis on ensuring no conflicts with other roles.

Candidate Details:
Ideal candidates should have a strong background in both design and front-end engineering, particularly with Angular and Figma. They should be experienced in building and maintaining scalable design systems, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating seamless user experiences.
