Job Summary:A Sheet Metal HVAC Installer is responsible for the installation, assembly, and maintenance of HVAC systems using sheet metal. This role involves fabricating, installing, and maintaining ductwork and other components to ensure efficient and effective operation of HVAC systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Installation and Assembly:
  • Install HVAC systems, including air ducts, vents, and air distribution equipment.
  • Assemble and install sheet metal parts and products, such as ductwork and fittings.
  • Measure and cut sheet metal to appropriate sizes and angles.
  • Connect HVAC equipment to ductwork and air distribution systems.
  1. Fabrication:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Fabricate sheet metal components using various tools and machines such as shears, breaks, and rollers.
  • Ensure all fabricated parts meet design specifications and quality standards.
  1. Maintenance and Repair:
  • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems and related components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues.
  • Repair or replace damaged or worn-out components, such as ducts and vents.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent service.
  • Educate customers on HVAC system operation and maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Vocational training or apprenticeship in sheet metal work or HVAC systems is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Previous experience as a sheet metal HVAC installer or in a similar role.
  • Experience with fabricating and installing sheet metal components.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments (e.g., heights, confined spaces).
