First Baptist Preschool is a ministry of First Baptist Church, Charlottesville, VA. As a staff member at FBP, you are a vital part of this ministry and have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and families.At FBP, you will work in an environment that values your contributions and gives you the resources you will need to implement a high quality, developmentally appropriate program.Your primary duty is to teach Biblical Truth and academic curriculum through play and hands-on activities to foster children’s spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Requirements

  • All staff must affirm the Southern Baptist Faith and Message 2000, a doctrinal statement that outlines the beliefs common to the Southern Baptist Convention churches, allowing you to have certainty that we believe the Bible is all true and has full authority over the life of each believer.
  • The Teacher must possess a college degree with experience in the education of young children, or Child Development Associate’s credential (CDA), or have at least 12 child-related credits from an accredited college, or substantial experience in working with children and are encouraged to be working towards the CDA.Official transcript/certificate and documentation of training is required by all staff.All staff are required to complete at least 16 hours of professional development in an area relevant to early childhood education.
  • All staff are certified annually by a practicing physician or nurse practitioner to be free from any disability which would prevent them from caring for children.All staff are also required to provide current TB screening or test results and have current First Aid/CPR training.
  • All staff are required to have fingerprinting and Central Registry background checks.
