Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for the detailed planning, execution, and closing of specific projects within the USAID Research and Development Activity portfolio. This role ensures that all project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager will coordinate with team members and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.  Position is contingent upon award and client approval.ResponsibilitiesProject Planning:  Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation and ensure project plans align with USAID's strategic priorities and contractual obligations.
Resource Management:  Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and finances and allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Communication:  Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration and act as a liaison between the project team and USAID, providing regular updates on project status.
Monitoring and Reporting:  Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary.  Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and USAID and ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on time.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans to address potential issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards through rigorous review processes and implement quality assurance protocols and best practices.
Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and final deliverables and ensure all documentation is organized and accessible to team members and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Years of Experience:  5+ years of experience
Degree:  Master's degree in a relevant field is required in Business Administration, Project Manager or a related field.
USAID Experience: Extensive experience managing USAID-funded projects, with a strong understanding of USAID regulations and compliance requirements. 
Technical Expertise: ​​​​​​​​​Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Leadership Skills: ​​​Strong project planning and management skills.
Organization Skills:  ​​​​​​Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and respond to challenges in a dynamic environment and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in a relevant field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
  • Experience working on USAID-funded projects.
  • Familiarity with USAID policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

Location:  Remote, will be required to travel to the DC area and other locations upon request.  Must be able to work effectively in a virtual environment and manage a remote team.
