GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
*This is a salaried position with full benefits, including money and hours for continuing education.
We are an integrated team of counselors and social workers. All our therapists are trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) that has been proven to be a powerful tool in the recall and relief from the deep trauma of sexual abuse. Our therapists incorporate a variety of other evidence-based clinical approaches such as Trauma-Focused CBT, IFS, DBT and play therapy. This position collaborates and consults with many health care providers and other staff within the Terry Reilly Clinics and the community to ensure the effective treatment of our patient population.
Our therapists are principally responsible for providing individual counseling services for people who have experienced trauma. We have specific training in treating children and adults, who have experienced sexual and physical abuse. Our primary referral sources are FACES, DHW, schools and the Terry Reilly Clinics. We provide counseling, regardless of insurance or ability to pay. Uninsured clients receive counseling services with scholarship assistance. Direct services include adult, adolescent and child individual therapy for trauma, child therapy with the participation of the parents, occasional family therapy, multi-person psycho educational classes and psychological assessment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity and ability to work with families from diverse backgrounds, be committed to life-long learning towards trauma therapy and multicultural competence. Our counselors must be able to work independently, and cooperatively as a member of a professional team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provide direct service counseling to child, adolescent and adult who have experienced trauma.
- Participate in the training and supervision of staff, which include master's level trainees and newly licensed clinicians.
- Collaborate with Terry Reilly providers (counseling, medical and dental staff), court system, DHW and with the community to best manage the clinical caseload and ensure effective and quality treatment.
- Utilize computer-based systems for scheduling and administrative functions.
- Active participation in staff meetings and in-house trainings.
- Perform related duties as assigned in support of the Terry Reilly mission.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in counseling or social work
- Current professional license in the State of Idaho (LPC, LMSW)
- Successful clearance of Department of Health and Welfare Criminal Background Check
- Work experience and/or specialized training in the sexual, familial abuse, or domestic violence fields
- At least 2 years post graduate experience providing direct counseling services
- Experience providing counseling to children and their parents
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid LCSW or LCPC or equivalent license in the state of Idaho
- EMDR trained
- At least two years post graduate experience providing direct counseling services to children
- Experience counseling sexual abuse victims
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
