General Position Summary:

This position reports to the shift Production Supervisor II. The Production Supervisor I in coordination with the Production Supervisor II manages the performance of shift operations throughout the shift. The Production Supervisor I collaborates with Maintenance, Quality Control, Human Resources, Supply Chain Departments to achieve desired results.

 

Essential Job Functions

Operations Management and Supervising

  • Conducts interviewing and hiring of production personnel.
  • Leads and motivates employees.
  • Identifies training needs and facilitates the needed training for production crew.
  • Ensures all employees are working in a safe manner and have the required job training.
  • Follows a production schedule and directs production leads to ensure efficient running.
  • Oversees training of employees in how to operate production equipment.
  • Summarizes paperwork and any issues in daily production and reports to the Production Supervisor II
  • Collaborates with
    • Maintenance department for a machinery issue/concern
    • QC department for a quality issue/concern
    • HR/safety department for a HR/Safety issue/concern
  • Ensures employees are following correct SOP and GMP procedures.
  • Works with Production Supervisor II to schedule personnel and ensure adequate resources are available to meet schedule.
  • Maintains 5S standards.
  • Identifies opportunities related to safety or improving performance.

 

Other & Miscellaneous

  • Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
  • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor
  • Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
  • Reports all irregular issues and problems to management for solution.
  • Maintains good communication with co-workers and outside contacts.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of previous related work experience in Food Manufacturing Production and Sanitation
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Flexibility in working hours, available for weekends as volume dictates
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts
  • High School diploma or GED
  • The ability to use Word, Excel and Outlook

 

Schedule - Hiring for all three shifts
Monday - Saturday

1st Shift: 6am - 2:30pm

2nd Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm

3rd Shift: 10pm - 6:30am
