Strong analytical skills, combined with an ability to motivate and support a strong data driven culture, are keys to success in this position. The Data and Assessment Sr. Manager reports to the Director of Data and Assessment and works closely with the Senior Administrative Team, and external partners who support and customize data tracking systems. This position supervises the Data and Assessment Associate in the absence of the Director of Data and Assessment.Responsible: (Tasks you are responsible for. Tasks are subject to change)

Testing and Compliance

  • District Test Coordination: manage all local, state, college (PSAT, PSAT 8/9, SAT, AP), and national (NAEP) testing, including but not limited to ordering materials, collecting pre-ID information, budgeting, and reporting results.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of MLLs to ensure WIDA and ACCESS 2.0 testing are completed following state mandates
  • Support and Compliance: train Testing Coordinators to understand and follow all assessment security and confidentiality procedures. Hold testing coordinators accountable for district policies.
  • Interim Assessments: manage implementation, administration, and analysis of all assessments and surveys.
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare and provide all data required for school reports and Charter renewal petitions.
  • Serve as the ESEA/Title I Coordinator and lead the Title I committee following state guidance

Data Collection and Reporting

  • Lead the ESEA Committee in completing the ESEA Grant and Annual School Plan including the collection and analysis of data related to school goals.
  • Support the Chief Academic Officer, network leaders, administrators, coaches, principals and teachers to collect and analyze data.
  • Oversee the development of reports and analyze data related to formative assessments, state testing, etc. and provide analysis to stakeholders.
  • Work alongside the Data Associate to develop and design dashboards and other regular achievement reports and analysis that answers key questions for stakeholders regarding student and school performance trends and patterns and that will inform decisions and strategic decisions.
  • Provide data reports and analysis for grant proposals and grant reporting.
  • Respond to ad hoc data inquiries/data requests from external and internal parties such as: requests for analysis of non-academic data, requests for support developing school and teacher-level data tracking systems, requests for visualizations for donors.

Professional Development

  • Design and provide professional learning opportunities for Testing Coordinators to comply with and understand all aspects of state testing, interim assessment, data analysis, accountability requirements and platforms and other related topics.
  • Design tools and deliver professional development sessions that help teachers understand how to analyze and use information from Interim and formative assessments in their classrooms.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Academic Officer and school leaders to conduct professional development around new initiatives in the areas of data management and analytics to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop office staff, teachers, and administrators on how to use all data management systems including but not limited to: iReady, Alma, Tableau, Kickboard, HIBster, Edulastic, ESGI, and NJSmart.

Systems Development and Management

  • Oversee the development, organization, and dissemination of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports (depending on the item) of academic, social-emotional, disciplinary, and social data.
  • Oversee development of the school calendar.
  • Oversee and manage the annual curriculum purchasing process to ensure that all schools have access to necessary resources
  • Oversee the execution of data roll-up to the Student Information System to ensure all student academic data points are reflected properly (for example, special education needs, recording of homeless students, etc.)

Management

  • Manage all school test coordinators directly
  • Manage the Data and Assessment Associate and Data Intern in the absence of the Director of Data and Assessment
Accountable: (What you are accountable for does not change, You are the decider on pivots within the system to meet the following goals)
  • Development of ESEA system: Percentage of ESEA expenditures by deadlines (100% by September 30, 90% by July 1, 75% by March 1, 50% by Jan 1, 25% by Nov 1)
  • Testing Protocols and Compliance: (all STCs are ranked a level 3 on the DTC walkthrough tool by NJSLA)
  • Data management: All Title I compliance reports are completed 1ith 100% accuracy and submitted on time (ASP, ESEA Grant, Title I Comparability, etc.(

Qualifications:

  • Must possess at least 1 Instructional Certification
