ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fill in for supervisor if a supervisor is absent
  • Replace Team Leaders in their absence or when they are filling in for absent assembly operators on various production lines
  • Monitor standard work habits of operators and train in correct methods, to assure proper handling to avoid injuries and develop acceptable speeds
  • Assist in the training and evaluation of new employees
  • Assist the Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager with administrative duties as requested.
  • Create and revise Quality Check Sheets, Facility Check Sheets, Work Instruction Manuals, Work Procedure Manuals, Standardized Work Instructions, and Visual Aids
  • Develop and implement Kaizen ideas
  • Develop line studies, Yamazumi charts, maintaining work balance charts, work sequence charts and standardized work combination charts
  • Develop training plans and Team Member evaluations
  • Organize Worker Observation Audits to evaluate team member competency.
  • Observe Change Point Control of Team leader.
  • Confirms Quality and Facility checks are documented by Team Leader.
  • Report abnormal conditions to superior immediately.
  • Implement and check 5S in assigned department.
  • Standardize work practices in assigned department.
  • Support annual plan and goals of Supervisor.
  • Assist in verification of Time and Attendance
  • Develop and support continuous improvement activities and improve company measurables
  • Must be willing to vary working hours necessary for adequate coverage of off shift operations
  • Ability to travel to customer locations on short notice to support customer needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Competencies and Experience

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following education, competencies and experience

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 1000 hours as FPI Team Leader.
  • Ability to make charts and graphs.
  • Agree to travel on short notice to support customer if needed.
  • Good Math Skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledgeable of 5S Practices and Principles
  • Able to develop and execute Jishuken Activities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly recognize problems
  • Ability to quickly grasp and apply new concepts
  • Good understanding of the assembly lines
  • Ability to run lines efficiently and understand quality and facility checks
  • Must be able to handle various tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members
  • Must be detail oriented and able to report all information accurately and in a timely manner
  • Must possess commitment to the Team concept and be able to treat all production Team Members in a fair and nondiscriminatory manner
