The Role


We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, organized Medical Coder/Biller to join our dynamic team. This crucial role involves accurately coding medical services and handling billing processes to ensure the smooth financial operation of our practice. You will be at the forefront of our financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all billing activities.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Medical Coding: Accurately code medical procedures and services using appropriate classification systems. Your meticulous work ensures our services are correctly categorized for billing and record-keeping.
  • Billing and Claims Processing: Handle the billing process, including preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies. You'll play a key role in managing the revenue cycle and ensuring timely reimbursements.
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Your attention to detail in record-keeping is vital for the financial health of our practice.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with medical coding standards and healthcare regulations. Your expertise helps protect our practice from legal risks and maintains our reputation for integrity.
  • Insurance and Patient Liaison: Act as a liaison with insurance companies and patients regarding billing matters. Your communication skills will help resolve any billing issues and maintain positive relationships.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and optimize billing and coding processes. Your initiative in identifying areas for improvement will enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations.


Qualifications:


  • Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding and billing, preferably in a mental health or healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and insurance processes.
  • Experience with electronic health records and medical billing software.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a big plus but not required.
