Summary of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

  • Promote total job safety, and a proactive safety culture within Savanna Well Servicing Corp;
  • Perform regular field safety inspections at work sites or required training 80% in field and 20% in office;
  • Undertake the opportunity to “Mentor” others with regard to the Savanna’s HSE Safety Management Programs, conduct safety meetings, pre-job meetings and safety trainings;
  • Assist Rig Site Management in the implementation of Savanna’s Health, Safety and Environmental programs and processes;
  • Implement and deliver health, safety and environmental trainings on Company, Industry or Statutory matters as required to ensure that HSE remains a key focus at the operational level;
  • Organize and track employee safety training and testing;
  • Organize, track and maintain HSE files, DOT files and other related files;
  • Develop sound knowledge of completion techniques, activities and the associated risks with said techniques and activities;
  • Assist Operations team in conducting incident investigation, with the intention of determining the Root Cause and determining corrective action items to prevent re-occurrence;
  • Promote the awareness of hazard identification, elimination and control;
  • Ensure all elements of the Corporate HSE process and programs are met in order to maintain regulatory compliance and incidents/injury free workplace;
  • Ensure all incidents are reported to the HSE Manager/Supervisor and Operations Management team in a timely fashion;
  • Ensure employees file Workers compensation claims in a timely manner;
  • Remain current and knowledgeable of OSHA and other Health, Safety & Environmental Regulations;
  • Maintain a positive and proactive safety culture across the work teams;
  • Champion and mentor Savanna’s Vision and Values;
  • Other duties as requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong Organizational skills;
  • Working knowledge in MS Word and Excel in order to prepare reports;
  • Must possess the ability to respond calmly to emergency and/or critical situations;
  • Ability to communicate clearly, confidently and concisely with employees, customers and government agencies;
  • Ability to source information and provide competent advice;
  • Ability to manage conflict and changing priorities;
  • Be a self-starter;
  • Ability to oversee Drug and Alcohol Corporate and DOT testing programs;
  • Ability to travel to remote rig sites in multiple states;
  • Handle confidential information in an ethical manner;
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Specialized training or degree is desirable;
  • 3-6 years industry experience with completions background is preferable;
  • A commensurate background in practical field applications of workplace health, safety and environment processes in relevant industry is highly regarded;
  • Experience in Root Cause Investigation and Analysis is preferred;
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, Workers’ Compensation Regulations, and Reporting Systems;
  • Established certifications in training PEC Safeland; H2S and First Aid CPR is preferred;
  • Maintaining all required training certificates per Savanna’s training matrices for this position is required;
  • Experience working with reporting systems such as ISNetworld; DISA; NCMS; PEC Veriforce and Procertx, is preferable.
  • Experience training employees is preferable.

Physical Abilities and Special Conditions Required:

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend and kneel for extended periods of time;
  • Ability to climb ladders; walk on uneven terrain and work in loud environments;
  • Ability to work under extreme weather conditions as needed;
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including respiratory masks;
  • Ability to lift up to 45lbs at a time and carry safety equipment;
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle and travel extensively to worksites;
  • Ability to work unconventional and on call hours as business needs dictate;
  • Must pass required pre-employment screening processes including physical capacities test.
