The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking a qualified Project Manager to administer a tenant improvement which will consist of converting a portion of the Carson City law library into a hybrid education center. The Project Manager will work directly with the Deputy Court Administrator and project architect to provide a broad range of professional services in planning, coordinating, directing and managing a tenant improvement project. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to monitoring budgets, negotiating, reviewing, and modifying contracts, reviewing and approving architectural and engineering plans, and establishing construction and contract schedules.
The successful candidate will oversee the project involving multiple teams to ensure smooth interactions and production. This position involves working within a highly professional environment with Justices, Judges, AOC staff and members of the public visiting the Supreme Court.
This is a contract position starting immediately through project closeout, or no later than May 1, 2025. Compensation is authorized based on knowledge and experience.
Location:
The offices project location will be based in Carson City at the Supreme Court Building. The Supreme Court Building shares grounds with the State Capitol, providing a beautiful and pleasant work environment. Carson City and the surrounding areas offer an array of housing options. In addition, Carson City is surrounded by the beautiful Sierra Mountains which offers world class skiing and golfing as well as hiking, biking, and various other outdoor activities and cultural events, not to mention an average of over 320 days of sunshine each year.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, business administration, or related field and two years of experience involving the design, planning and coordination of construction or other capital improvement projects and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification OR an equivalent combination of education and experience and PMP Certification.
Contractors must possess excellent customer service and written and verbal communications skills and have the ability to work within a group or independently. Must have adequate knowledge and skills to work independently with little oversight or training.
Working Environment:
The position is performed in a typical office environment. The person in this position will:
- Walk, stand, crouch, grab, hold, push, pull, bend, raise arms above the head, and sit for extended periods.
- Operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Overtime may be required, as needed.
