Our Construction team is growing, and we are looking for a Heavy Construction Project Manager with a background in Heavy Construction to join us in our Woodridge, IL office. An analytical mindset and strong organizational skills are essential. Ultimately, your goal is to ensure timely project delivery while adhering to requirements and budget constraints.
The primary role of this position will be to assist construction project managers with the overall administration and tracking of construction projects. Projects are based around V3’s self-performed design/build trade of earthwork and ecological restoration and include river restoration, shoreline stabilization, site development, trail construction, parks, and misc. infrastructure. Work will require a presence in both V3’s office and at various site locations throughout the region to document construction progress, communicate with on-site staff, vendors, and subcontractors.
Here are some of the things we see you working on:
- On-site Supervision: Oversee trade construction projects, ensuring quality, and adherence to project timelines.
- Contract and Subcontract Administration: Manage meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, and other essential documentation.
- Cost Tracking: Monitor project expenses and maintain accurate records.
- Quantity Take-Off: Utilize AutoCAD or other takeoff software for precise material estimates.
- Estimating and Bidding: Assist in preparing competitive bids and contract negotiations.
- Project Proposals: Contribute to winning new work opportunities.
- Scheduling Expertise: Proficient in Primavera SureTrak and/or Microsoft Project for effective project planning.
Successful Backgrounds Could Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred
- Construction field experience suitable to safely work on site during active construction activities
- Ability to apply critical thinking to projects and tasks
- Detail oriented to accurately document construction progress, summarize costs, track delivery tickets, or provide other updates as required by the project.
- Autocad, Micro Station, or equivalent proficiency preferred
