About Elephant & Piggie

Elephant & Piggie is a fun show based on Mo Willems’ award winning children books. This show with beloved characters and lively songs is the perfect way to introduce young people to the magic of theatre This is performed as a part of our Theatre for Young Audience program put on for students pre-K through 3rd grade but welcomes all ages.


Work Conditions

DCPA Off-Center will present Elephant & Piggie in our Newman building at 1101 13th Street in the Weeks Theatre running from October 8th – December 22nd. All work covered under IATSE Contract.


Duties and Responsibilities
The team of stagehands (lights (1), sound (2), deck (2) will run the show backstage and in the booth, maintaining all aspects of the show

  • Maintain regular communication with Supervising Stagehand and Stage Manager
  • Daily checks of space, depending on role.
  • Use of QLAB, Lightboard, or automation
  • Resolve any technical issues where possible.
  • Call for extra support as needed
  • Clean the space daily
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Professionalism, poise under pressure, and a positive attitude towards the organization and co-workers. Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic carpentry and maintenance skills preferred
  • Ability to adhere to compliance and security and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team - self-motivated and able to manage their own workload.
  • Previous experience with DCPA and Off-Center is preferred.
  • Pre-existing knowledge of QLAB

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; use ladders or work from heights; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

$23.34 per hour an between 36-40 hours per week. Temporary role between October 8th – December 22nd.
