Licensed Primary Therapist

Job Summary: The Licensed Primary Therapist provides a strong therapeutic relationship to the patient, coordinating the course of treatment within the multidisciplinary treatment team through the formulation, implementation and guidance of a written treatment plan based upon assessed needs.

Ideal candidate is EMDR certified with experience working with Veterans & First Responders

The Primary Therapist will provide support to the family, integrating them in the treatment process when possible.

The Primary Therapist will address relapse prevention as well as participate in the coordination of continuing care plan(s).

EXPERIENCE 1 to 2 years experience in an outpatient, day treatment, residential and/or hospital setting addressing the needs of veterans and first responders

EDUCATION Masters degree from an accredited school in behavioral sciences, counseling, or related human services field

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS LMHC, LCSW, LMFT

JOB DUTIES & COMPETENCIES

Facilitate individual, group and family therapy in accordance with license requirements, AHCA, TJC standards and TREATMENT CENTER policies.

Performs comprehensive assessment and treatment planning.

Screens and assesses effectively for suicidality and responds with appropriate safeguards as needed.

Elicits comprehensive information from the patient and collateral sources.

Analyzes and interprets the information to develop an accurate diagnostic impression.

Translates and prioritizes information from the assessment into treatment goals and measurable objectives.

Includes the patient in the treatment planning process and recognizes the patients strengths and limitations.

Establishes appropriate criteria to evaluate progress and revises the plan as the patients needs change.

Communicates rights and expectations for behavior to patients in a consistent and respectful manner.

Provide didactic/educational lectures.

Respond to off hour issues/concerns in a timely and effective manner.

Effectively communicates relevant clinical information to the patient, family, and Clinical staff.

Actively participates in treatment team meetings, presenting patient case assessment.

Documentation the assessment, progress and/or regression of the patient in an accurate and timely manner.

Incorporate and facilitate family treatment participation.

Shows respect for the patient/family frame of reference, and for individual differences within the mental health population.

Communicate with families and referent.

Respond to and assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution, including assessment and need to Baker Act.

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems.

Demonstrates ability to respond to feedback and supervision from supervisor and peers.

Demonstrates knowledge of mental illness as it affects persons from diverse backgrounds; is sensitive to different cultural, ethnic, racial, socio-economic, religious and gender values as they may affect recovery.

Demonstrate sensitivity in working with physically and mentally disabled within the larger treatment population.

Capability to fulfill "on-call" assignment as identified by needs of the business.

Adheres to TREATMENT CENTER, policies and procedures.

Maintain appropriate boundaries, attendance, professionalism, and ethical behavior with patients, families, and other professionals.

Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with Title 42 CFR, Part 2 and HIPAA and TREATMENT CENTER CITY Policies.

Performs other duties assigned.
