Job Responsibilities (Based on Experience):
- Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and submit customer invoices.
- Monitor and track payments and expenditures.
- Sales tax verification and reporting
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure all bank transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Support Financial Reporting:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the Controller in month-end and year-end close processes.
- Conduct variance analysis and report findings to management.
- Compliance and Audit:
- Assist with audits by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and transactions.
- Administrative Duties:
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
- Handle other accounting tasks and projects as assigned by the Controller.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10 years Accounting experience in lieu of degree requirement
- Experience in Construction Industry preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Vista Viewpoint) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
