The ideal candidate has a Certificate of Qualification in their chosen field of expertise and at least 3 years of experience working on large-scale industrial projects. Experience in sawmills and/or wood processing facilities is preferred. Other trades with extensive welding and fabrication experience may be considered and are encouraged to apply. A day in the life of a Metal Worker at AnchorCM will include using their advanced skills and knowledge of a variety of welding and fabrication processes to ensure work is completed on time and to a high-quality standard. At AnchorCM, every employee contributes to creating a safe and respectful work environment. Our employees receive plenty of opportunity to work meaningfully and develop their skills in a team environment.

Shift Details:

  • Rotation work
  • Two weeks on, two weeks off
  • Opportunities for interstate travel
  • Overtime is required

Main Duties:

  • Utilize state of the art metal forming and fusing processes to meet quality standards with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum SMAW, GMAW, FCAW - 6G
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure proper assembly .
  • Complete precise and accurate work.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following and implementing all Safe Work Practices and Procedures.
  • Model and uphold the Company rules, policies, and performance expectations.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and contribute to a positive corporate culture.
  • Lay out reference points and patterns on heavy metal according to component specifications.
  • Rig, hoist and safely move large and complex loads.
  • Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units or subunits.
  • Install fabricated components in a final product.
  • Work safely at heights, confined spaces, and in challenging environments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Complete all site specific safety and quality training as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years working as a journeyperson in your chosen trade taking on progressively more responsibility and authority.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, plan the flow of work, set up equipment and layout materials to maximize productivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a high-hazard environment.
  • Strong work ethic and time management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute positively to a skilled trades team.
  • Understanding of due diligence and ability to complete detailed and accurate reports as required.
  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
  • The following additional training is considered an asset:
  • Occupational First Aid
  • Certification for Structural Steel and/or Aluminum welding processes
  • Certification for Pipe and Pressure Welding
  • OSHA-training
  • Fall protection Training
  • Equipment Operation (Forklift, Telehandler, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
