Job Description – Mechanical Estimator/ Project Management – Southern Region

Summary / Objective
This position oversees operations of Marquis mechanical estimating function. Ensure bids are created in a timely and accurate manner. Responsible for tracking project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of projects.
Essential Functions
- Abide and follow Marquis safety rules and regulations.
- Develops estimates for large or complex projects involving mechanical, civil, & structural.
- Determine material and labor requirements for estimates.
- Reviews request for quote (RFQ’s) packages daily to submit estimates.
- Ensure compliance with the centralized cost estimating database and flowing formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized.
- Develop, assign, and review estimates.
- Interfaces with other individual in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.
- Consults with clients, vendors or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Conducts walk through inside the plants when necessary.
- Serve as a point of contact for team when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
- Make decision and monitor the progress of projects to keep it on schedule
- Any other duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.

- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to type, file and lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full- time position. Days and hours of work are Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm. and weekends will be required during turnarounds or special assignments.
Travel
Required to travel to various customers, as required to work on estimates and manage Estimating Department
Required Education and Experience
- Graduation from High School or GED equivalent
- Understanding how to read and interpret blueprints and ISO drawings.
- Management of multiple estimators
- Knowledge of computers and relevant Microsoft office software – primarily Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Prior sales experience a plus
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience working in mechanical, civil, and structural.
- Extensive detailed blueprint and ISO drawing experience
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent multi-tasking ability
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Two years of increasingly responsible related experience or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Work Authorization
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
