POSITION: Facility Maintenance Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Facility Maintenance Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Facility Maintenance Coordinator supports the upkeep of the facility and grounds, working closely with the maintenance staff to ensure smooth operations. The coordinator assists in evaluating the needs of the facility, coordinating general maintenance, and implementing physical improvements to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective production of cannabis. The Facility Maintenance Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring that our cannabis cultivation facility operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Facility Maintenance Manager in overseeing a team of maintenance technicians to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all facility equipment and systems, including HVAC, lighting, irrigation, and security systems.
  • Support compliance efforts by helping to ensure the facility meets all regulatory requirements related to safety, security, and environmental standards in the cannabis industry.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Maintenance Manager in developing and managing the facility maintenance budget, including cost control measures and vendor negotiations.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to source and purchase equipment, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance activities.
  • Assist in creating and managing maintenance schedules to minimize disruption to cultivation operations and maximize equipment uptime.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and supplies to support maintenance needs.
  • Provide support in training, mentoring, and offering development opportunities for maintenance staff to ensure a highly skilled and motivated team.
  • Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans to address facility-related incidents and ensure the safety of all personnel and assets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks, as directed by the Facility Maintenance Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience in facility maintenance coordination or a similar role, preferably in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals or agriculture.
  • Basic knowledge of indoor growing facility needs is preferred.
  • Understanding of HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read building blueprints.
  • Understanding of AC power distribution.
  • HS Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience with and knowledge of the legal growing, harvesting, curing, and packaging of marijuana is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and team coordination skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
