Introduction
Classic Granite & Marble has a 37,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art fabrication and production facility with an award-winning showroom located conveniently off I-288 and Midlothian Turnpike. We carry an inventory of over 8,000 slabs including 300 different colors. We handle all projects from beginning to end, which includes laser templating, CAD, fabrication, and installation. Our clients include both residential homeowners as well as building contractors.
Position Description
The Estimator is responsible for accurately assessing project costs for stone fabrication and installation. This includes understanding project requirements, reading blueprints, and using specialized software to create detailed cost estimates. The Estimator works closely with sales, project management, and production teams to ensure that estimates are competitive and profitable while meeting customer specifications and deadlines.
Applicants must thrive working in a fast-paced environment and multitask successfully. Applicant must be well organized and detail-oriented. This is a full-time position. You will receive industry training.
Job requirements include:
- Review and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Calculate the cost of materials, labor, equipment, and other project expenses.
- Use estimating software to create detailed and accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare estimates for various types of stonework including countertops, bathrooms, vanities, fireplaces, and custom stone fabrication.
- Prepare and submit detailed and accurate quotations to customers.
- Work with sales and project management teams to develop and present proposals to clients.
- Ensure that all proposals comply with company standards and customer requirements.
- Communicate with customers to clarify project requirements and address any concerns.
- Provide professional and timely responses to customer inquiries regarding estimates and project costs.
- Work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs.
- Collaborate with project managers and production teams to ensure estimates align with production capabilities and timelines.
- Continuously improve estimating processes and tools to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Preferred Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience is preferred in construction industry
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Spanish preferred but not required.
