TheNurse Practitioneris responsible for focusing on promoting and maintaining the health and safety of employees within a workplace setting.
Job Duties :
- Health Assessments: Conducting comprehensive health assessments of employees including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and screenings (e.g., vision, hearing).
- Injury and Illness Management: Managing workplace injuries and illnesses, providing immediate care, and coordinating follow-up treatment.
- Health Promotion and Education: Developing and implementing health promotion programs and educational materials to improve employee wellness and prevent occupational health issues.
- Workplace Hazard Identification: Identifying workplace hazards through assessments and working with management to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Health Counseling: Providing counseling and guidance to employees on health-related issues, such as nutrition, stress management, and ergonomic practices.
- Case Management: Managing cases involving complex medical conditions, disabilities, and return-to-work plans.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including occupational health physicians, safety officers, HR personnel, and external healthcare providers.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintaining accurate and confidential medical records, documenting patient visits, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Health Surveillance: Conducting health surveillance activities to monitor the health status of employees exposed to specific occupational hazards (e.g., chemicals, noise).
- Emergency Response: Participating in emergency response planning and providing medical assistance during workplace emergencies.
- Policy Development: Assisting in the development and implementation of occupational health policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Research and Evaluation: Participating in research projects and evaluating the effectiveness of occupational health programs and interventions.
- Health Screening Programs: Administering and interpreting results of health screening programs (e.g., blood pressure, cholesterol) to assess employee health status.
- Administrative Duties: Performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory
- Continuing Education: Staying current with advancements in occupational health practices through continuing education and professional development activities
Job Requirements:
- NP Certification – Required
- DOT Certification – Required
- Valid Texas Nursing License – Required
- 2+ years of Experience in Occupational Health
Job Details:
- Schedule: M- F 8 am – 5 pm
- Starting at $75/hr.(based on experience) + benefits.
- Full benefits – healthcare, dental, vision, 401k program.
