Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription The Bike Technician, under limited supervision, conducts bicycle repairs while maintaining a safe, clean, and friendly work environment. This is a hands-on position that will have you working on various bike brands, with various tools. The Bike Technician supports our team and our customers with all mechanical expertise.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Present ourselves as safety conscious employees, minimizing risk of injury.
  • Work as a team with all departments.
  • Fix and maintain bicycles for customers and fellow employees through work in the bike shop and in the field.
  • Clean, grease, tune, adjust, fix, and assemble bicycles for all manner of audiences.
  • Preserving complete and accurate shop records and maintaining record keeping systems.
  • Identify and inform management of ways to improve shop workflow, growing productivity while maintaining or improving quality.
  • Manage the inventory of your rental equipment.
  • Managing work supplies and work tools while ensuring a clean, secure, and safe work environment.
  • Assist in the rental of any related equipment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Minimum of Intermediate Mountain Bike riding skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of mountain bike repair skills.
  • Must be confident with all bike maintenance tools.
  • Must know all bike component names and be aware of current bike brands.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Preferably trained or certified by PBMA, Barnett Bicycle Institiute or equivalent organization.
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience as a bike technician.
