The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work directly with our clients and will work together with others at GVZ to provide exceptional client service. GVZ is a locally owned public accounting firm with approximately 35 employees. We specialize in working with small to mid-sized businesses and their owners on tax compliance and tax planning. Our firm also offers payroll, sales tax, bookkeeping, and full-service accounting for our business clients. We are looking for a tax senior associate to join us in our Hudson office and/or our New Richmond office.

Responsibilities:

· Preparation and/or review of income tax returns for businesses (mostly 1065/1120S) and individuals

· Perform tax research and document conclusions as necessary

· Provide proactive communication and timely service to our clients

· Stay up to date on tax laws and compliance requirements

· Organize tax workpapers in a paperless environment

· Prepare responses to tax notices and/or examinations

· Collect information from clients for preparation of tax returns, may include in-person or virtual meetings with clients

· Assist with tax planning and projection projects as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:

· 3+ years of experience in public accounting

· CPA license or ability to obtain CPA license is preferred

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent

· Experience with QuickBooks or other similar accounting software products is a plus

· Strong organizational skills and ability to proactively communicate with others

· Sense of initiative and willingness to learn
