Job Summary:

As a Safety Professional at Maverick Power, you will be at the forefront of our Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) program, ensuring a proactive and engaged approach to safety across all our manufacturing facilities and the field services team. This role requires high action and initiative to monitor emerging issues and risks, provide HSE training, and maintain HSE records. Reporting to the Quality & HSE Manager, you will be based at one of our Texas facilities, supporting all locations. This position offers significant advancement opportunities as our company continues its rapid success and growth.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety walks and audits of our manufacturing, assembly, and warehouse areas, spending approximately 80% of your time on the production floor.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legal requirements.
  • Maintain all HSE records to ensure compliance to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and completion of required HSE training which will include awareness training, new hire training, and recertification training.
  • Lead near-miss and incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and resolve unsafe acts and conditions, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Participate in pre-task planning, toolbox safety talks, daily production meetings, and site safety meetings.
  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and completion of required HSE training
  • Support crisis management and emergency action plans.
  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and completion of emergency preparedness drills.
  • Identifying training opportunities and high-risk work.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction / New Process Introduction meetings to identify and address safety concerns.
  • Compile safety data, photographs, and reports as required by program procedures and regulations.
  • Completion of daily, quarterly, and annual audits/inspections.
  • Represent Safety in various meetings as assigned.
  • Perform new hire safety training.
  • Perform visitor safety briefings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as necessary or assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HSE or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience (e.g., 5+ years in a safety role with a proven track record of success), (will also consider applicable military experience).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Detailed knowledge of HSE regulatory requirements for general industry and construction.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Safety position in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in health & safety training and record-keeping.
  • 3+ years of experience in hazard assessments, near-miss and incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Attention to detail to ensure specifications being requested are received.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Board Certified Safety Professional certifications (ASP, CSP, OHST, etc.).
  • Experience with Electrical Safety and Control of Hazardous Energy (NAPF 70 E).
  • 1+ years of construction site safety experience.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
  • Supervisory experience overseeing other HSE personnel.
  • Proficiency in Vietnamese and/or Spanish is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with ISO 45001
  • Experience with OSHA IIPP

Travel Requirements:

  • Frequent travel between the three Texas facilities all located within a 23-mile radius.
  • Occasional travel to our Phoenix, AZ manufacturing facility as well as remote job sites to support our Field Services employees.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
  • Full range of dexterity in all body parts.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work from heights.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and squat.
  • Ability to push and pull carts, dollies, and pallet jacks.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to identify the full spectrum of colors.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 and ability to work while wearing safety glasses (contacts not allowed in manufacturing/production areas).
  • Good hearing, correctable with hearing aids if necessary.
