JOB OVERVIEW:

This is an administrative position responsible for the Quality assurance and Quality improvement programs at Northeast Florida Health Services (NEFHS) Inc. The Quality Manger provides direction, instruction and completion for all Quality improvement/assurance processes. The QI/QA Specialist works all clinical and administrative staff to coordinate with the Quality improvements and quality measurements required for our organization. The QI/QA Specialist identifies appropriate resources to provide education to the clinical team under the direction of the Quality Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Works directly with the Quality Manager to manage the daily Quality measures and process are identified and are followed.
  • Aids in the development and implements tactical work plans to support the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Ensures the clinical staff have all information needed to complete and maintain Quality appropriately including charting/documentation compliance of quality measures
  • Serves as a resource for Quality improvements/Quality incentives/Quality assurance.
  • Regularly interfaces with providers, and other team members positively by influencing high Quality of care to our patients by providing direction and support for Quality improvement and to assist and achieve the clinical goals and objectives in the organization’s comprehensive health care plan.
  • Participates as needed as a member of various committees related to the overall improvement of the organization.
  • Complies with NEFHS policies and procedures.
  • Attends all mandatory in-services and meetings.
  • Adheres to all National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards.
  • Train medical assistant with data entry and documentation.

Assist with ensuring updated information is reported back to the various insurance carriers monthly and as needed

  • Maintains professional, courteous communication with all staff, patients and insurance carriers.
  • Provides excellent Customer Service
  • Manages daily spreadsheet assignments.
  • Schedule patients as needed
  • Uploading documents into patient charts
  • Verifying patient information

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Some clinical or medical office experience.
  • Preferred knowledge of clinical immunizations, growth and development, cultural diversity, performance improvement and coding
  • Preferred knowledge of all Quality, accreditation and Primary care measurements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of Electronic Health Record for audit purposes, error correction, training and reporting.

  • Dependability- Demonstrates the ability to plan and organize work effectively to ensure its timely completion, follow instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Reliability- Attendance habits meet company standards outlined in the policy. Arrives at meetings and work schedules on time.
  • Teamwork- Demonstrated ability to work well with all employees. Willingness to assist with/without request. Shows initiative’s.
  • Interpersonal Skills- Demonstrates ability to interact with people, varying communication styles o suit age appropriateness in accordance with company policy.
