Job Title: Supervisor of After-School Athletics Clubs

Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND)-Brighton, CO

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Assistant Headmaster

Work Hours/Days: After School, usually on Thursdays and Fridays, from 3-5 p.m.

Desired Start Date: August 7, 2024

Stipend Position: $1000 per school quarter

We are looking for an After School Athletics Clubs Supervisor who would be responsible for creating, organizing, supervising, and coaching after school clubs for grades 3-8.

Located in Brighton, CO, just 3 miles from I-25, Ascent Classical of Northern Denver (ACAND) is a growing school of over 200 students offering grades K-8 for the 2024-25 school year with plans to expand to K-12 by adding one grade per year.

We are looking for someone with high standards of excellence, a professional demeanor, and a can-do attitude to join our team and to help us build for the future. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven team player with the capacity to manage multiple projects and thrive in a dynamic environment. This is an onsite position based in our school.

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate with parents and guardians about opportunities for club sports
  • Plan, organize, and coach students in after-school athletics, including soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball, kickball, and other possibilities.
  • Mentor students in teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitive play
  • Maintain inventory of club materials
  • Provide for or arrange orderly storage of club materials
  • As needed, coordinate practices or scrimmages off-site
  • When possible, arrange for club scrimmages with teams from other schools
  • Communicate with parent volunteers and other adults involved to meet transportation needs as necessary
  • Ensure safe and welcoming environment for students
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • School experience preferred
  • Interacting respectfully with students, teachers, and other staff
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population and staff
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
  • Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members
  • Adherence to all school policies

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to traverse stairs, the classroom, and school building
  • Be able to be on your feet for the majority of the scheduled shift
  • Be able to lift 40 pounds and awareness of proper lifting procedures, especially when handling heavy containers

Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools, Inc. (ACACS) is a network of public charter schools in Colorado comprised of four campuses. The governing Board of Directors at ACACS has contracted with Minga Education Group (MEG) to provide employment services for all staff at ACACS. Through this partnership, MEG provides employment services, a personnel system for human resources, benefits, payroll services, and access to a 401(k) plan.
