LEAD WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

Service Metal is a rapidly growing, nationwide Master Distributor of industrial pipe fittings, valves, and flanges. We are hiring a Lead Warehouse Associate to join our growing company and be an integral part of developing our Warehouse in Houston.

This is for the 2nd Shift Operations.

JOB SUMMARY:

This is a full-time, hourly position, with daily attendance required at our Houston Warehouse. This is for 2nd shift, and comes with a premium, which is an additional $1.50 an hour added to the base hourly wage.

The Lead Warehouse Associate directly monitors the daily operations of the warehouse while servicing internal and external customers.

Duties:

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager by providing "on-the-floor" leadership and direction to Warehouse Associates.
  • Work along with the Logistics Coordinator and Manager to create picklists for order pickers utilizing Produmex WMS.
  • Daily collaboration with Shipping/Receiving Lead to ensure Warehouse Associates are allocated to maintain shipping and receiving service levels.
  • Effectively communicates issues or concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensure warehouse associates are properly trained and follow standard operating procedures for accuracy in warehouse transactions.
  • Retrieves inventory by locating and verifying materials, stacking and securing materials on pallets.
  • Loading pallets and boxes for shipment.
  • Stocks inventory with great attention to detail.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Uses Forklifts to accomplish many of the above goals. Forklift training will be provided if needed.
  • May be called upon for other duties as needed.

  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop and kneel to perform daily tasks.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years of Lead experience
  • 2+ years of RF and barcode scanner experience (ERP software, WMS software, TMS software)
  • 2+ years of forklift experience
  • Knowledge of Pipe fittings, Valves and Flanges (PVF)

WHAT WE OFFER:

This is a full-time hourly position and Service Metal wants to compensate you for your hard work and experience. We value your input on our team. In addition to being paid weekly, you will be getting full benefits after 90 days (about 3 months), that include premiums fully paid by the company for Health, Dental, Life, and Disability insurance. Also, the Company offers a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and Service Metal reimburses our employees for their in-network medical deductibles. We offer numerous other low-cost optional benefits for employees and their families.

 We offer a 401K retirement plan with a 3.5% match from the company. We also offer participation in a profit-sharing plan, with a discretionary company contribution, after the first year.

We offer a PTO allowance program, and it is earned weekly from the first day. We also have paid holidays, a floating holiday, and paid parental leave.

We pay a quarterly incentive bonus based on warehouse performance. Best of all, we offer a positive atmosphere of teamwork and inclusion.
