The ideal candidate should have experience in estimating commercial construction projects for a Commercial Construction Company. This experience should encompass estimating (both site work and building), project planning, scheduling, and managing preconstruction activities.Responsibilities:
- Create precise and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Develop and oversee preconstruction schedules, ensuring that all project milestones and deadlines are adhered to.
- Request and assess bids from subcontractors and suppliers, guaranteeing competitive pricing and adherence to quality standards.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing quality or altering the project scope.
- Work with clients, architects, and engineers to understand project requirements and deliver value-focused solutions.
- Keep thorough records of estimates, bids, contracts, and other project-related documents.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth transitions from preconstruction to project execution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with a General Contractor in estimating and managing preconstruction for commercial construction projects.
- Skilled in using construction estimating software (such as Procore).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
