Job Summary:

The Human Resource/ Benefits Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all PMHD locations. This role administers benefit plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves both benefits and human resources-related problems and ensures effective and positive employee relations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, benefit administration, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Administers benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations.
  • Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Support Pioneers Skilled Nursing Facility in all HR aspects by acting as a point of contact handling issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist supervisors in performance management procedures
  • Assist the Benefits Manager in administering the employee benefit and retirement plans.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance
  • Redirect HR related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate person of the team
  • Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
  • Reconciles benefits statements.
  • Conducts audits of benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process.
  • Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested from HR management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years related experience required.
  • SHRM credential preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
