SUMMARY

Assists engineer by performing a variety of duties such as troubleshooting, modifying and fabricating equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operates hand tools and manual machining equipment.

Works from drawings, diagrams, schematics, and specific verbal and written instructions.

Uses specified methods to assemble or build equipment; makes adjustments, modifications, replacements as directed.

Follows prescribed work methods; however, may make simple repairs.

Design and assemble simple fixtures and tooling.

Determines resources required to perform specified tasks and convey these requirements to engineer.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mechanical and electrical aptitude and abilities.

Associate's degree or equivalent experience in related technical areas.
