JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Clinical Support/BH Technician

Program: Detox/Residential

Reports To: Program Director

Summary:

Clinical Support staff is responsible for providing direct client care and supervision to clients in the detox and residential program and maintaining and keeping the house running smoothly; providing support to other clinical staff and assist in manangement. Observes and reports changes in behavior, emotional and/or medical problems that require support and immediate response in clients.
As a Clinical Support staff and Lead Tech, you are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team in helping achieve treatment goals and success of each individual client.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that clients follow treatment schedule
  • Complete appropriate documentation in the clinical chart (Kipu) and support treatment goals outlined in treatment plans and clinical progress notes.
  • Participate in therapeutic interactions, guidance, support and role model to residents, while monitoring behavior according to program guidelines.
  • Foster positive relationships and communicate with team members, residents, and residents’ families and visitors.
  • Monitor medication, documenting medication retrieval and inventory
  • Required to conduct chemical dependency group and individual counseling sessions.
  • Assist with intake and discharge procedures, ensuring that all required documentation is signed on timely basis
  • Provide transportation to scheduled appointments and activities as needed
  • Provide crisis inventory when necessary
  • Document all significant interactions with clients, and maintain progress notes
  • Redirect and educate clients if rules are broken and/or if intervention is required
  • Assist with meal preparation; do laundry, change out bedding and clean the room upon discharge of the residents;
  • Ensure safety and wellbeing of clients at all times
  • Make continuous rounds and take vital signs as needed (depending on the level of care)
  • Assist with clients’ funds/ disbursement of phones
  • Provide urinalysis testing to clients as needed and document it
  • Responsible for understanding policies and procedures, operations of the company and following and enforcing these with clients.
  • Arrange referrals and housing for clients on as needed basis and assist with transitioning clients going to another level of care.
  • Report incidents, accidents, and occurrences in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safety of the physical environment
  • Utilize skills within the company to support growth and development
  • Seeks corrective criticism and can evaluate suggestions objectively
  • Address all concerns directly with the Program Director and Management and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Position is required to work indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Ability to assist the Program Director as needed
  • Ability to build rapport with clients, family members and relate to coworkers
  • Possess personal qualities, such as compassion, empathy, leadership
  • Ability to work as a team member, and possess organizational, communication, interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in relation to department needs
  • Ability to document notes, complete paperwork in a timely manner
  • Ability to perform most household tasks, which may include lifting up to 20 pounds and engage in basic recreational activities, i.e. walking
  • Possess knowledge of the 12-Step Program, and /or other recovery and addiction models of support
  • Must have at least one year of experience in the behavioral health field
  • RADT Certification, working towards CADC or similar certification
  • Prefer degree in counseling, social work, psychology or related field
  • Ability to multitask, as needed

● Ability to establish rapport and confidence with clients and their families and with colleagues.
● Ability to use the computer for scheduling, billing, and clinical documentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
