Position Purpose

The Sr Manager of Warehouse Operations for our Fairfield Fulfillment Center is directly responsible for providing the vision, leadership, and coaching needed to develop and maintain all departmental employees' competencies, performance, and collaboration within the warehouse operations environment, including shipping, receiving, and production. This position will ensure the delivery of world-class results in safety, packaging, quality, delivery, and cost. The ideal candidate will use data and strategic insights to make informed recommendations and guide team members towards achieving operational excellence. This position has leadership responsibility for our Fairfield warehouse and production department in the largest fulfillment center in the Saxco network.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Participate in developing the annual operating plan for full P&L in direct alignment with company goals.
  • Inbound receiving and inspection activities ensure inbound deliveries into AX are received and records maintained in compliance with company requirements.
  • Provide leadership to the production and warehouse team members to deliver world class business results in safety, quality, and cost.
  • Work collaboratively with supply chain, purchasing and other departments to reach goals and objectives.
  • Outbound shipping activities to ensure shipments are processed in compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in developing and preparing the annual budget, KPI Goals, evaluating weekly performance, and recommending adjustments. Manage all labor expenses and monitor weekly payroll.
  • Identify and execute regional operational synergies, including warehouse optimization.
  • Execute established safety and security programs.
  • Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local guidelines.
  • Confer with the VP of Operations and respond to customer or vendor questions or complaints to resolve issues regarding distribution services.
  • Work with the sales team to align product and service offerings with customer expectations.
  • Work with the supply chain team to maximize fill rates and inventory turns.
  • Review receiving schedules and daily outbound projections to estimate peak delivery periods and establish workforce and route requirements.
  • Drive Efficiencies (Loading, Unloading, Cross Dock, RF, Slotting, Accuracy, Performance, etc.)
  • Provide one-on-one mentorship, training, and individualized development plans to enhance team members' professional growth, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet both personal career goals and organizational objectives.
  • Conduct performance management activities, including performance appraisals and design of training and career development plans.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of service & productivity improvement initiatives to increase customer satisfaction & reduce operating expense.
  • Monitor and maintain established programs.
  • Ensure that progressive coaching and counseling concepts are conducted according to established policies and procedures.
  • Review workforce staffing plans to ensure proper levels are allocated to meet business demands.
  • Host local, state, and federal inspections.
  • Travel up to 15%.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in warehouse operations.
  • 10 years of warehousing experience
  • Must have 5+ years of warehouse leadership experience
  • Must have 5+ years leading other leaders in the warehouse environment
  • Must have a bias for process improvement, and change while acting as a servant leader for warehouse associates
  • Must be proficient with MS 365 Suit (Excel, Word, WMS, ERP systems experience required) – Microsoft AX Dynamics is preferred.

  • Third-party logistics.
  • Lean warehouse operations and staff focused on performance metrics and Lean process improvements.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, statistics, and quality.
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates, justifications, and financial analyses.
  • Proven track record of maintaining a high level of employee morale through team building and counseling.
  • Lean Six Sigma green belt or higher is a plus.
  • Customer-focused and results-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change while improving efficiencies and processes. Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
  • Uses creativity to seek quality solutions and process improvements.
