Skilled Caregiver Needed for Long-Term Private Care

Location: New Buffalo, MI

Position: Full-Time Caregiver (24/7 Coverage)

Description:


We are in need of a skilled and compassionate caregiver to join our team providing round-the-clock care for client in New Buffalo. The successful candidate will have experience with patient transfers, particularly with the use of sit-to-stand lifts, and must be comfortable operating a motorized wheelchair. This role is critical as Dr. Brent transitions from a rehab facility and will likely become a long-term position.

Responsibilities:


  • Assist with personal care, including showering and transfers.
  • Prepare meals and manage household errands.
  • Operate and assist with the use of a motorized wheelchair and sit-to-stand lift.
  • Ensure a comfortable and supportive environment, especially during transfers.
  • Maintain a smoke-free environment and provide care as requested by client and his family.
Qualifications:


  • Experience in caregiving with a focus on transferring patients and using mobility aids.
  • Valid drivers license and familiarity with wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
  • Non-smoker and willing to adhere to a full-time, 24/7 schedule.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with existing caregivers and family preferences.
