The Operational Excellence Manager will be a high-impact leader, focused on driving business transformation and operational excellence across Leiter’s business. This role will be part of a high performing team within an industry-leading business unit of Leiters. This position will be responsible for partnering with senior leaders to translate the vision into actionable strategies, defining initiatives to operationalize those recommendations, prioritizing projects, driving alignment and buy-in, and partnering with teams to see those plans through to execution. This leader will partner closely with business leaders, product, change management, finance, training, and program management among other groups. This role will leverage deep understanding of key customer and team member needs to drive product, policy, and process enhancements to provide superior customer experience and drive business growth.

Essential Functions:

  • Prioritize, plan, influence, and drive execution of the strategic Operational Excellence initiatives to achieve financial, operational efficiency and customer experience objectives. Break down complex work into well-defined workstreams.
  • Creates and nurtures a continuous improvement environment by using various methodologies like lean manufacturing, six sigma, waste reduction, performance assessments, OEE, and Kaizens.
  • Provide thought-leadership, direction and prioritization of product and operational enhancements to drive customer experience, operational efficiencies, and organizational transformation efforts.
  • Leverage data and analytical problem-solving skills to drive insights and prioritize opportunities. Define and track KPIs to drive accountability and measure outcomes.
  • Utilize problem solving skills to define creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Leverage advanced management and communication skills to facilitate complex team meetings involving business, product, operations and technical resources.
  • Serve as an effective people leader, developing talent, building a high-performance culture, and empowering the team to excel.
  • Professionally represents the company and participates in industry conferences.
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of market conditions and trends to ensure effective reaction to market changes and proactive development of solutions ahead of need.
  • Ability to influence, encourage and lead change
  • Ability to collaborate and work across a heavily matrixed environment with strong communication.
  • Build relationships with divisions and site leadership team members to understand business objectives and priorities.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

Experience & Necessary Skills:

  • 7 plus years of relevant experience including 4+ years in a leadership role required with a Bachelor's degree, 5 plus years' experience required with advanced degree, or 10 years equivalent experience required without a college degree.
  • Experience in highly rated FDA environment is necessary to verify projects maintain validated state.
  • Prior experience with customer experience, transformation, or operational excellence.
  • Bias towards action and strong sense of urgency. Passionate about driving results.
  • Demonstrated record of outstanding success within an organization where relationships, collaboration and customer service are high priorities.
  • Demonstrated business judgement and decision-making skills in high-stakes environments.
  • Experienced people leader able to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the organization. Able to leverage strong storytelling to drive buy-in amongst stakeholders.
  • Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes in order to meet business requirements.
  • Demonstrate superior knowledge of operational excellence concepts and tools, such as value stream mapping, tiered daily management, Gemba, standard work, cell and line layout, 3P, Kanban, OEE, waste prevention and cycle time reduction.
