Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the Document Control Specialist works with the Configuration Manager to drive proposed changes of technical and system documentation through document/life cycle. Provides support and guidance to enforce controlled processes and practices for the creation, review, modification, issuance, distribution, and accessibility of documents within the organization.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in driving the Configuration Management process including Engineering Change Orders, quality system documentation, and product documentation in accordance with internal and external management practices and procedures.
  • Assist Engineering and Operation staff to create and/or revise process documentation.
  • Verify that integrity/accuracy of documentation meets ISO 9000 & AS9100 standards.
  • Performs Change Control Board (CCB) process as needed to assist Configuration Manager.
  • Process changes through the change control process and distribute documentation to respective departments in accordance with ISO 9000 & AS9100 standards.
  • Ensure that effective control is maintained for product or system documentation, product datasheets, manuals and other document records.
  • Perform document status and verification audits of external reference documents to ensure available documentation is current.
  • Support internal and external auditors on Configuration / Documentation processes and customer audits.
  • Perform internal audits in accordance with ISO 9000 & AS9100 standards.
  • Assist with creation of training materials and record-keeping for internal training programs.
  • Report status of company metrics, KPI’s or other reporting as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education: Associate’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience in document control / configuration management is required.

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in configuration management or document control management in a manufacturing environment, including experience with ISO 9000 and AS 9100.
  • SolidWorks / PADS and FileMaker software experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Typing proficiency of 45 wpm or better recommended.
  • Computer literate with recent experience in the use of ERP and product data management programs such as Epicor/Vantage or Agile.
  • Strong professional presence and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work directly with all levels of staffing to update and resolve issues.

Pay Range: $27per hour to $36 per hour.
