Basic Function:

  • A Scheduler plans and prepares production schedule for manufacture of industrial or commercial products.

Responsibilities:

  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Analyzes production specifications and facility capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resources requirements.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepares production reports.
  • Involved in the development of build strategies with production and project management.
  • Provides schedule dates for the MRP process for material procurement in time necessary to support production.
  • Performs physical progress of project activities.
  • Reports progress and tracking results to production supervision.
  • Reports schedule projections to production supervision.
  • Develops recovery plans as needed with production supervision.
  • Maintains tracking result history.
  • Other duties assigned or requested by Management.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in planning and preparing production schedules, with experience in shipbuilding preferred.
  • Must have experience utilizing Primavera - P6 software.
  • Must be well organized and able to multi-task multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proficient in utilizing basic computer software (MS Office applications).
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including written and verbal communication.
