Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant plays a vital role within our accounting team, providing essential support of the financial operations of our organization. The Senior Accountant’s key responsibilities will be compiling and analyzing monthly, quarterly and annual financial information, assisting in financial planning and analysis, and performing month-end close procedures.

This is a hybrid role based out of our offices in downtown Stillwater, MN (1-2 days per week in office & 3-4 days per week remote).

Responsibilities:

• Review accounting entries posted to the general ledger to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Perform bank and other account reconciliations in a timely manner, resolving reconciling items by utilizing communication and problem-solving skills
• Provide month-end close support, including the posting of journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
• Complete monthly financial and statistical reports to be utilized by operational leaders
• Assist with completion of the monthly Financial Reporting Deck for Executive Leadership and Board of Directors
• Enhance and document processes and procedures to facilitate accurate and timely financial information
• Provide support in the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
• Assist Management with the Planning and Forecasting process, and serve as the key contact and manager of the planning and forecasting system
• Assist with preparation for the annual external audit, and manage the annual 1099 process
• Contribute to process improvements, ad hoc projects and audit support as needed and assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Certification/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Comprehensive knowledge of balance sheets, profit and loss accounting and reporting, Excel and GAAP
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong initiative and solid judgment ability
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to manage deadlines, along with flexibility to changing priorities
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with strong written and verbal skills
