The Audit Coordinator and Findings Analyst (ACFA) is a part of the Risk Compliance Analyst (RCA) team and will assist the Compliance Program at Stanford Federal Credit Union. The ACFA serves as the primary contact for auditors and examiners, coordinating all audit engagements and ensuring timely completion of audit tasks. Manage audit findings, including report dissemination, follow-up, and status reporting to management. The ACFA performs internal audit duties during off-peak seasons to ensure compliance with organizational procedures. The role requires strong attention to detail, coordination skills, and professionalism.
Who YOU are:
- Serve as the primary credit union contact for internal auditors, external auditors, examiners, and other legal or audit engagements.
- Act as the primary driver of audit engagements including coordinating kick off and exit meetings, getting and giving access to secure portals, uploading documents, setting up meetings, forwarding communications to the appropriate teams, etc.
- Responsible for audit finding remediation including the dissemination of audit reports, assignment of findings, follow-up on conclusions and completions, reporting of finding status to Management, and appropriate escalations of past due items.
- As the primary point of contact in many cases, must be courteous and professional, responsive, and yet task/deadline focused in order to ensure all audit work is completed.
- During the off-peak audit season and as time allows, will perform internal audit duties including verification, audit, inspection, observation, and other tasks to ensure compliance at the Tier 1 or Tier 2 level of various department/organizational procedures and processes.
- Associate degree; or at least two years of equivalent experience for each year of school not completed is required.
- Minimum two years (0-2 for level I, 2-4 for level II, and 4-6 for level III) of specialized experience in either Risk or Compliance area within a financial institution.
What YOU’LL do:
- Compliance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Conduct regular assessments of the organization’s compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain compliance reports and documentation for internal stakeholders.
- Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Risk Assessment:
- Analyze credit union processes and operations to identify potential risks.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk mitigation strategies (controls) and propose improvements.
- Assist in developing risk mitigation plans and strategies.
- Provide data-driven insights to support decision making.
- Regulatory Research:
- Stay updated on changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Interpret and communicate regulatory changes to relevant departments.
- Assist in implementing compliance measures to address regulatory updates.
- Policy and Procedure Development and Review including participating in the development and revision of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct policy reviews to ensure alignment with internal procedures, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Training, Education, and Audit Support:
- Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training programs for employees.
- Ensure departments are informed about compliance policies and procedure updates.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during compliance audits.
- Assist in preparing audit materials and responding to audit findings.
