Job Summary:


The Aviation Buyer will maintain our supply inventory levels and negotiate deals with potential vendors, and challenge our Supply Chain on cost, quality, and delivery. The Aviation Buyer will be responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures as well as maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operation. The Aviation Buyer candidate will also be charged with conducting regular price comparisons and sourcing strategies to ensure that the company is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Maintain strong working relationships with our vendors.
  • Review purchasing agreements with vendors and maintain open lines of communications with those vendors.
  • Use our ERP system for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual usage.
  • Understand and develop KANBAN systems where applicable for Supplies and components.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, researching market trends, perform benchmarking, and establish long-term purchasing arrangements with vendors when it is beneficial to the company.
  • Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors to expedite and/or when there are discrepancies, returns, credit memos etc.
  • Assign PO#'s and input orders into the ERP system.
  • Responsible for procuring/prioritizing AOG, Engineering orders, and other special circumstances.
  • Establish preferred Suppliers and create and implement related management programs to develop, continuously improve, and manage/monitor performance of the Supply base.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Associate Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in a technical purchasing role.
  • Must be self-directing and ability to work remotely if needed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have ERP experience.
  • Proven history of effective supply management and negotiation skills.
  • Able to create and administer a task priority list based on company needs.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills


  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Experience with After-market companies preferred.
  • Quantum ERP experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and driven to meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift items.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • This position is subject to a background check.
  • Must be able to pass restricted party screening and can work under strict EAR guidelines per the Export Controls Act.
  • This is a full-time non-exempt position. The hourly pay rate for this position is: $24.00-$31.25.
