This position requires an analytical thinker who produces high quality work. Will be the expert in the field and be able to work independently as well as coordinate a team of drafters. Must be able to work on multiple projects while maintaining accuracy.


Job Summary


Supervise employees while designing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.

Job Responsibilities


  • Review structures and make recommendations
  • Design new structures including foundations
  • Product development for new sign technology
  • Benchmark competitor’s products
  • Research new technology and recommend how to use in signs
  • Manage a team of drafters to ensure product meets demands
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of work experience
  • Supervisory experience- 2 years minimum
  • 3D modeling experience required
  • Microsoft Office knowledge required
  • Risa or Ansys FEA software a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate with all departments including management

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time, salaried exempt position. Typical Days and hours worked are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Physical Demands


This position will require an employee to be able to be sedentary for long periods of time in an environment with the noise level of an average office. Will also require some time spent standing on production floor with noise of a manufacturing operation.
