Job Description:
Lehi Surgery Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a PRN PACU Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional post-anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and smooth transition from the operating room to recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients closely for post-operative complications and intervene promptly as needed.
- Assess patient conditions, manage pain, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care and adherence to post-operative care plans.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and discharge instructions.
- Adhere to established protocols, standards, and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in PACU nursing.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in the state of Utah.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a PACU or critical care setting.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in both a hospital and an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting.
- Certification in Post-Anesthesia Care Nursing (CPAN) or related specialty.
